What was the highlight of this past weekend?
Highlight was definitely getting my boy home. He was in Vietnam and Singapore for business all week. Oh, how I missed him...
Other than that, things were fairly quiet (the stomach bug John brought home with him took care of much of that).
Did manage to get a coat of paint on the carport yesterday, which while is very dull for the rest of you, is quite exciting for us given the state it was in. Will hopefully (re)inspire us to get the front gardens underway.

What did you do this weekend?
Let's see...Friday night we had dinner with friends (they cooked). Stumbled home with a full belly and satisfied smile.
Saturday we had breakfast at our favourite cafe of the moment, Milk'd (I had the walnut fruit toast, John-boy had the poached eggs and spinach). From there we hit the shops for a couple of things for John's trip and then on to his parent's place for a visit. While we were there I had a call from work, so had to rush home to log in and take care of things. Ended up going in to the office for a couple of hours (sitting in the dark as much of the power had been turned off). Met John back at home around 4.00pm and we headed out to look through a house we were considering (4 level, warehouse apartment.... too dark, bad kitchen, very stuffy and nowhere for the dog). Saturday night was spent at home, me in front of the computer and the boy packing his bags.
Sunday morning, John was up at 4.30am with a taxi booked for 5.30am to take him to the airport (like I was getting up at that time to shlep him out there...). I got up at a decent hour and took the dog for a walk down to the supermarket for a couple of things. On the way back home got a call from my friend Jon, inviting me for coffee. Two skinny long machiatos later, I was off across town to visit another couple and see their new house (though they've been in it for almost 10 months). While I was there I had another call from work, so it was back home to log in again (and giving me a good excuse for not visiting my parents while I was in the neighbourhood). After sorting out that drama it was time to open a bottle of wine and enjoy some time to myself.
Busy, busy, busy....
