What's your cell phone's ringtone? What made you pick it?
Now, my mobile (sorry, cell phone) is one of the basic models. It makes calls, SMS and that's about it. Nocamera, no mp3 player, nothing. Consequently, my ringtone is one of the stock-standard tunes, nothing fancy.
However... if I did have a phone worthy (and able) to play mp3 tones, then I would have the theme from Doctor Who. The 2006 series is currently playing over here (though someone may have seen all of the episodes by downloading them from the net, but I won't name names) and everytime I hear that opening music it reminds me of my childhood.
Go to one random page in Explore Audio. What CD do you see that you're most interested in listening to?
I've got to admit, I'm not a music person. I tried this and didn't recognise anyone on my 'random page', tried again... nothing.
My car radio is tuned to ABC Radio National, so I can hear the news as I drvie to work. If I listen to something at work, it's usually dig radio.

I couldn't find anyone to have lunch with, so I took myself off to Ned's Cafe just down the road from where I work. Found myself a table along the window seat and settled in with a magazine.
A Mozzarella Melt, hot chcolate, orange & poppy seed cake and a pot of English breakfast tea later and I'm back at my desk drumming my fingers on my now distended stomach.

What was your favorite candy when you were a kid? How does that compare to now?
I admit, I've got a sweet tooth, so for me any candy (there's another of those regional words, I'd call them lollies) is good candy.
As a kid, I was always partial to "Chicos" (chocolate flavoured jelly babies). I'm not sure they're entirely politically correct, but then they do come from the home of "Coon" cheese (first made by a Mr. Coon as I understand).
These days my tastes haven't really matured much. Many a Chico still passes by my lips, however the favourite of the moment seems to be "Frogs Alive" (raspberry flavoured jelly frogs). None of those natural colours and flavours for me (what is with that?), give me those hyperactivity causing chemical substitutes any day.

What was the highlight of this past weekend?
Highlight was definitely getting my boy home. He was in Vietnam and Singapore for business all week. Oh, how I missed him...
Other than that, things were fairly quiet (the stomach bug John brought home with him took care of much of that).
Did manage to get a coat of paint on the carport yesterday, which while is very dull for the rest of you, is quite exciting for us given the state it was in. Will hopefully (re)inspire us to get the front gardens underway.

What's your favorite drink or cocktail? What's in it?
Question submitted by charm.vox.com
That's an easy one, a mango daiquiri. Take 60ml white rum, 15ml triple-sec, 15ml lime juice, 15ml lemon juice and 1/2 a fresh or (better still) frozen mango, blend with a heap of ice.
Mmmmmm...

Who is your favorite Muppet? Why?
QotD submitted by knitwitology.vox.com.
You've gotta love Waldorf & Statler, a couple of bitchy old theatre queens. Hmmmm... reminds me of John and I in many ways (though we have far less ear hair).

What did you do this weekend?
Let's see...Friday night we had dinner with friends (they cooked). Stumbled home with a full belly and satisfied smile.
Saturday we had breakfast at our favourite cafe of the moment, Milk'd (I had the walnut fruit toast, John-boy had the poached eggs and spinach). From there we hit the shops for a couple of things for John's trip and then on to his parent's place for a visit. While we were there I had a call from work, so had to rush home to log in and take care of things. Ended up going in to the office for a couple of hours (sitting in the dark as much of the power had been turned off). Met John back at home around 4.00pm and we headed out to look through a house we were considering (4 level, warehouse apartment.... too dark, bad kitchen, very stuffy and nowhere for the dog). Saturday night was spent at home, me in front of the computer and the boy packing his bags.
Sunday morning, John was up at 4.30am with a taxi booked for 5.30am to take him to the airport (like I was getting up at that time to shlep him out there...). I got up at a decent hour and took the dog for a walk down to the supermarket for a couple of things. On the way back home got a call from my friend Jon, inviting me for coffee. Two skinny long machiatos later, I was off across town to visit another couple and see their new house (though they've been in it for almost 10 months). While I was there I had another call from work, so it was back home to log in again (and giving me a good excuse for not visiting my parents while I was in the neighbourhood). After sorting out that drama it was time to open a bottle of wine and enjoy some time to myself.
Busy, busy, busy....

When did you first realize that you were ___________? Was it a positive or negative experience?
Question submitted by George.
I first realised (or at least, first believed) I was gay on New Years Eve 2000. I had travelled to Alice Springs that year, with a group of people I had only just met. One of our party was this cute gay guy, a couple of years younger than me.
We had a great time, saw the sites of central Australia. New Years Eve we went out to a restuarant, ate, drank and made merry. Later, we hit a bar, where the band got nude at midnight to play 'Auld Lang Syne'. It was a fantastic night.
Back at the hotel, we were getting ready for bed. This guy came in and gave my girlfriend (oops, did I not mention this bit?) and I, a goodnight kiss. That was it. I knew exactly what was missing in my life, the love of a man. I told my girlfriend there and then, I couldn't keep going knowing what I now knew.
So, while the timing could have been better (it couldn't have been much worse now, could it?), this was more than just a positive experience, it was one of the best things to have happened in my life. To finally realise who I was, opened my eyes to an entirely new world.
